Writing Prompts: Fiction, Stage Play, and Nonfiction

Everyone needs a little inspiration once in a while. Today’s ideas include a fiction writing prompt, stage play writing prompt, and a nonfiction writing prompt.

Genre: Fiction

Imagine you are living in a post-apocalyptic world. Think back to when it all began and tell us how you got to this point. When did people realize the world was in trouble? Who was with you? Where did you go? How did society react?

Genre: Stage Play

Write a monologue about what your (fictional or real) neighbors know about you. Even if you’ve never met, what can they glean from the sights, sounds, smells, and other observations they’ve made? How do they react to what they know?

Genre: Nonfiction

What is your greatest fear? Is it a common or obscure fear? What is the background of your fear as it relates to society in general? Why do you think you are afraid of this particular thing?

Happy writing!
